I know this comment is way late, but while looking for articles addressing this issue; I find that this is the best. Although I'm not a Muslim, I find this to be a problem amongst the Muslims that I do know. I really do wish that someone would address this issue. It's hypocritical and disgusting. While I do admire the Muslims who fight for those in Palestine, I want to ask them about their brothers and sisters in those other areas of the world. The Muslims that don't eat biriyani or have Middle Eastern roots, do you care for those brothers and sisters?

Kind've sad no one else is expressing their comment here..only two people...but people are soo keen to offer their comments about other topics-this just shows the lack of disinterest in this topic as you've stated above in your post. May Allah reward you for your efforts.

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu my dearest sister, This is a lovely blog! Tabarak'Allah. Jazaki'Allahu khair for the article. Very interesting.. however I don't share the same thoughts in all that you've mentioned. They ARE a lot of Muslims out there helping EVERYONE (not just Palestine) to the best of their ability. Maybe we don't see them, or hear about them, but I know everyone around ME are doing their best. It's disheartening the hear comments, and read articles about how Muslims aren't doing enough. The only way that's going to change (if it's true) is if those that hold that view, take the initiative to start something positive. Take care Love Farhana

Sister Roberta, I found your article very moving. I am a "revert" to Islam and am thirsty for knowledge and information about Islamic issues all over the world. All I know is I am tired of the injustice that seems to befall Muslims everywhere and I want to first learn, then act. Educate us on Darfur - post links that we should read. There is so much information out there, and some of us are not very savvy when it comes to research; perhaps you can guide us into this knowledge? May Allah Bless You for your attempt to enlighten us.
