I know living in suburban Chicago, I probably won't ever be in the same position as the writer, but it's important that we never let our guard down and always stay mindful of safety precautions we can take for ourselves. I just wanted to mention that pepper spray is not legal in Canada but 'dog repellent' is ;). It is basically pepper spray but if anyone asks you what it is say it is dog repellent.
