THE 2009 ESSAY CONTEST (Deadline July 4th)

Applicants are required to submit an essay (no more than 2,500 words) on the following topic:

How is community development in the Middle East important to the U.S.? Why is it particularly crucial to focus on Egypt?

Awards:

First Prize $5,000
Second Prize: $2,500
Third Prize: $1,500
Two Honorable Mentions: $500 each

Eligibility: Must be a registered full-time graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in the United States at the time of entry. Must be a US citizen.High school students or graduate students entering college, or starting graduate studies in the fall of 2009 are also eligible for entry into the contest.
