After an adventurous year abroad in Egypt, Alia writes to you from Orlando, Florida where she is teacher-by-day and student-by-night. She remains actively involved in her local community, especially in spheres that involve educating, supporting and guiding youth. She makes it a high priority to support recreational programs for disabled youth and happens to be the older sister of a Special Olympics Gold Medalist. Alia headed a successful charity project that raised funds for the construction of a school in an impoverished district of Bangladesh affected by the 2007 South Asian floods. In the same year she also researched and wrote about women in Islam for a book available on Amazon: Demystifying Islam: Your Guide to the Most Misunderstood Religion of the 21st Century.
