Cindy writes from the city of the "brotherly love," Philadelphia. A full-time educator, Cindy doesn't seem to get enough of teaching and dedicates her time to teaching Sunday School and mentoring youth for an award-winning national service learning project, "Walking the Walk." Her students think she is cool because she drives fast, dresses stylishly and says, "yo" every other sentence. Her upbringing between the East and the West has given her a unique insight on the world. Her passion is to advocate for those who are deprived of a voice and serve justice. Cindy has managed to volunteer in a Muslim women's shelter, organize various conferences on domestic violence and take part in the Philly Project Downtown chapter. On her free time, she works with an independence agency to empower those with disabilities. Cindy's message to the world is simple, "It's time for action!"
