Another interesting fact is that we do not give kids enough credit. They are Ma'shaallah smarter than they seem. Many times they can feel and copy our stress and anxiety. I am sure all of us parents have noticed that when we are under pressure and anxious, our kids also tend to behave a certain way!!! I can really relate to this subhanAllah. I have had similar feelings in the past when I realised how much I used to read to my elder two sons then got too busy when two children became three, then four, then five mashaAllah tabaarakAllah. I like the eye contact games mashaAllah and will get my two youngest to play that inshaAllah. They are at a stage where they each get easily annoyed by the other looking at them the wrong way subhanAllah. As well as good eye contact we also have to remember to listen to our children and encourage them to open up to us if ever they are bothered by something. InshaAllah we can teach our children good means of communication so that they can grow into well-mannered and responsible adults that have empathy for others bi'idhnillah. May Allah guide us all.
