Its up to us to make the effort, to give it our all and keep our intentions sincere for the sake of Allah. And after that its up to Him to give us success - whatever kind it may be; short term, long term, worldly success, akhirati success, etc. We don't know what kind of results we'll reap from the efforts we sow.
