Let us be kind to our close and far relatives, neighbors and all. Most of all, let us re-examine ourselves and make an intention to become better people as the year nearly ends. New beginnings are every day and let us take some time to ponder and rejuvenate.

Eid Mubarak! May Allah accept from us and you and grant us greater appreciation, humility and submission to Him. May Allah bless you and your loved ones this auspicious day, ameen.

We all look forward to it for different reasons: the opportunity to focus on our spirituality, our relationship with Allah, getting together with family and friends, learning more about the Quran, the focus and concentration in salah you can only get from being hungry, the bootcamp to rrid ourselves of bad habits, and whatever other reasons we may have. Whatever the reason is, May Allah bless you, your families, your ibadah and increase us in good deeds and accept them from us, ameen.

How is community development in the Middle East important to the U.S.? Why is it particularly crucial to focus on Egypt?

Awards:

First Prize $5,000
Second Prize: $2,500
Third Prize: $1,500
Two Honorable Mentions: $500 each

Eligibility: Must be a registered full-time graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in the United States at the time of entry. Must be a US citizen.High school students or graduate students entering college, or starting graduate studies in the fall of 2009 are also eligible for entry into the contest.
